We start with a conversation.
When you call, we will talk for 15-20 minutes to see if we are a good fit. If we are, we will schedule an initial meeting.
In our first meeting, I’ll learn about your history, what happened, and what you still carry inside – the painful experiences and negative messages that interfere with your life and your relationships and cause you to stay stuck. Then, we’ll develop a plan and create a map of the journey to reach your goals.
Upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0
You discover your current operating system – your 1.0 Self. You decide what you want to keep and what you want to delete. Then together, we build your 2.0 Self – your upgraded self.
Through gradual behavior changes, you will download the new version of yourself, begin responding differently, and meet the world in new ways.
How does it happen?
I listen very carefully and pay close attention to what you are saying and holding inside. I show you how to listen carefully and pay attention to yourself – to tune in and become more aware. Change happens by first being more aware of what you’re doing.
Identify Your Strengths – You will see what you do well and how to leverage your strengths to make the changes you desire for yourself, your relationships, and your work.
Amazed in the Moment – I will point out what is happening right here in our sessions – moments that seem to parallel what you are doing in your life. You will be amazed to see how your current dilemmas manifest as we are talking.
When this happens, I will suggest small “experiments” – things for you to try on, say or do, right in our session that will move you toward your goals. I might suggest that you continue to practice these changes during the week as a homework assignment.
After Therapy…
Life feels so different and more enjoyable. You have confidence in yourself and your decisions – and feel more resilient in the face of challenges.
You’re more connected to yourself and others.
You’ve discovered your best self!

My Background
I love the work that I do and felt drawn to be a therapist from an early age.
As a licensed psychologist in California, I have been in private practice for 40 years.
Clients have come from all professions, including the tech and entertainment industries, medicine, law, business, education, and professional sports. I have seen hundreds of people like you and couples like yours.
I am a trained Gestalt Therapist and have taught and supervised therapists for many years.
Here’s something personal.
I have been happily married (most of the time) for 39 years.
My three adult children make me a proud father each day – and I’m over the moon for my three granddaughters!
I love spending time with family, being in or near the ocean, and bodysurfing any chance I get.
