Couples Therapy

Opposites Attract – But Not For Long.

You thought you found your perfect match, your opposite, the one who completes you.

Things were going well for a while. Gradually, what was so attractive about your partner is what bothers you now. You don’t know how it happened, just that you feel unhappy.

Communication is strained and ineffective. You’re not hearing each other or getting what you want from the other. Intimacy is declining. You think, “Why can’t my partner be more like me?”

The emotional toll on you is increasing. “If this continues, can we still be together?”

Couples therapy can help rekindle that attraction.

Working in couples therapy can help you regain the lost trust and intimacy.

You can learn to listen and truly hear each other rather than talking past each other.

Those judgments? You can trade them for understanding and develop skills to deal with differences.

You will discover the five secrets to a successful relationship.

Here’s a typical session.

After a careful 2-3 session assessment, I will often ask you to talk to each other rather than me.

This way, I can see what you do together and how you do it – the ways that you communicate, deal with differences, and make decisions. I will tell you what I see and hear – what you do well and what you do that interferes and takes you away from one another.

You will be amazed to see your patterns emerge right in our session! As you see these patterns, I will suggest structured exercises for you to do together first in our session and then at home. These exercises will teach you how to practice more loving and effective ways to respond to each other.

Reconnect and find that lost attraction.
